Southwest Florida will be in line for some scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, but mainly in regions to the east of Interstate 75.
In our interior communities across Hendry, DeSoto, Glades, eastern Collier, eastern Lee and eastern Charlotte any storm that develops could be strong, with some strong wind gusts and heavy rain as the main concern.
Neighborhoods to the west of Interstate 75 still have the chance for some rain or storms tonight, but the coverage of any rain will stay much lower.
Conditions around the area will remain mild and muggy with overnight lows dropping into the middle 70s. A nighttime low of 74 degrees is expected in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.
On Wednesday, temperatures will warm up quickly with highs approaching 90 degrees by the lunch hour. The sea breeze should arrive by late morning or early afternoon tomorrow, so expect some rain and storms in western Lee, Collier and Charlotte County during the mid-day hours, with most of the rain and storms favoring communities east of the interstate in the afternoon.
