TODAY: A shortwave trough brings a 40% chance of thunderstorms, mainly towards the afternoon and early evening hours. Otherwise, we'll see partly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 80's. A couple storms could be stronger, with some hail and stronger wind gusts possible. Our skies will clear heading into the overnight as ridging builds into our region. We'll see calm conditions with lows in the upper 50's. Some fog is also possible as we wake up on Friday.
FRIDAY: Ridging persists throughout the bulk of the day. Highs will be in the mid 80's, dew points will be in the lower 60's, and we'll be seeing mostly sunny skies. A low pressure system begins to approach us from the west as we head into the afternoon and evening hours, so we'll begin to cloud up from west to east. We'll see a chance of severe weather overnight.
FRIDAY NIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING: A warm front moves through our region from west to east starting Friday night. Severe weather is possible, and the Storm Predictive Center has already issued an enhanced risk for western portions of our region. The main threats include large hail, strong winds, heavy downpours, and a couple of tornadoes are possible. The strongest storms should be late Friday night and early Saturday morning over the western half of our region. We'll have a better idea on more exact timing moving into tomorrow.
SATURDAY: Another round of severe storms are possible for the southern half of our region as a cold front moves through the area. We'll see a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms heading into the first half of the day. Storms should begin to wrap up heading into the mid afternoon hours, but we could see some lingering stronger storms into the evening. Conditions will be hot and humid, with highs in the mid to upper 80's. We'll begin to partially clear into the overnight hours.
SUNDAY: We'll see partly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 80's and lows in the lower 60's.
