First Alert Weather Day Monday: Strong to severe thunderstorms possible - FOX19

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Monday is First Alert Weather Day as the storm prediction center has the Tri-State at a slight risk for severe weather in the evening.

Storms and thunderstorms will develop between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the entire Tri-State until 11 p.m.

The main threat is damaging winds, followed by an isolated tornado threat and locally heavy rainfall that could result in flooding.

Dearborn County’s tornado warning expired at 6:45 p.m.

Stay tuned to the FOX19 First Alert Weather Team for forecast updates. This forecast may change before Monday evening. In addition, have ways to receive alerts, including the First Alert Weather app.

Showers and thunderstorms will end overnight Monday with clouds moving out Tuesday.

Tuesday will be a bit less humid with afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 80s.

The dry stretch of weather will be brief, but it will also include more heat with highs in the low 90s on Wednesday and Thursday.

Showers and storms will move back into the Tri-State starting Thursday late evening and continue into Friday.

This rain will lower temperatures some but expect highs to remain in the 80s heading into the first weekend of August.
