A frontal boundary moves in today. This afternoon a line of strong to severe storms will form along it. It develops across the central and eastern U.P. The severe weather potential will be concentrated in the southern U.P. The hazards are hail, heavy rain, and gusty winds. Rain showers will gradually clear overnight into tomorrow morning. The wet pattern will continue as another disturbance will bring widespread rain and thundershowers on Thursday. Rainfall amounts will be around 1-1.50″ for most of the northern counties. The southern counties could exceed 2.0″ by Thursday night.
Changes are on the horizon! A trough in the jetstream digs in across the Great Lakes this weekend with a colder airmass. Rain/snow mix will be possible on Sunday. However, our first snow accumulation of the season comes early next Monday through Wednesday with lake effect snow.
