Alleged child abuse causing severe injury lands Manhattan woman in jail - WIBW

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - A Manhattan woman has been arrested for the alleged abuse of a child which caused severe injury.

The Riley County Police Department says that just after 10:10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, law enforcement officials in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza in Manhattan arrested Kassi Martin, 26, of Manhattan.

RCPD said Martin had been wanted on a Riley Co. District Court warrant for child abuse and aggravated endangering a child. The warrant stems from a June 2023 incident.

Martin was booked into the Riley Co. Jail on:

• Abuse of a child - reckless great bodily harm, abusive head trauma or permanent disability or disfigurement
• Aggravated endangering a child

As of Monday, Martin remains behind bars on a $50,000 bond.
