Severe weather delays Texans-Browns game in Cleveland - Houston Chronicle

CLEVELAND – The Texans and Browns have returned to the field and kickoff is scheduled for 12:37.

The players have 10 minutes to warm up before the coin ross at kickoff at FirstEnergy Stadium.

A violent thunderstorm in downtown Cleveland forced the Texans and Browns back to their dressing rooms and fans to seek cover.

A torrential downpour at FirstEnergy Stadium, including wind, lightning and hail, caused the noon, CT, kickoff to be delayed.

The severe thunderstorm blowing off Lake Erie caused such problems that teams were ordered to leave the field right before kickoff. Fans had to seek cover in the concourses. The wind is gusting up to 55 miles per hour.

In the Cleveland area, the forecast said some parts of the city lost power, and there was damage to trees and mobile homes as the wind gusted up to 70 miles an hour.

Another thunderstorm is forecast for around 4 ET.
