Larimer County officials have lifted all mandatory and all voluntary evacuations for the Cameron Peak fire and for a spot fire, started by the East Troublesome fire, known as the Thompson Zone, that burned into Larimer County, the sheriff’s office said.
“All residents and business occupants (of Larimer County) that were under evacuations for both fires may now return to their homes and businesses with no restrictions,” the sheriff’s office said.
A portion of the fire in the Thompson Zone burned into Larimer County, from Grand County, when it crossed the Continental Divide.
The Cameron Peak fire has burned 208,913 acres, or 326 square miles, since starting on August 13. It is 85% contained. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Thompson Zone fire has burned 4,889 acres since starting on Oct. 22, according to fire officials. It is 31% contained.
