The jet energy coming out of the Pacific northwest will be enough to add the threat for severe weather much farther east. The clashing of the cool, fall air mass with the above average heat currently in place will add to the severe threat.
The changing wind will aid the shear in the atmosphere to support even the chance for some isolated tornadoes. In addition to the shear, the instability will be enough to create a risk for hail along with the strong outflow wind upwards of 58+ mph.
The risk for damaging wind, hail and isolated tornadoes comes with the marginal (1) and slight (2) risks issued by the Storm Prediction Center.
The storms are expected to trigger with the heating of the day and be the strongest in late afternoon, early evening. The rain will continue to work eastward during the late night hours.
