CITY OF FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- The City of Fitchburg Fire Department responded to a call just after 8:30 a.m. to flooding in an apartment complex Sunday.
When crews arrived they found the basement of the McKee Park Apartments, an income-based apartment community for seniors, had flooded from a water pipe.
There was concern of electrical hazards with about three feet of standing water in the boiler room.
Fire crews contacted Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E) who turned off the gas and electricity for the safety of the residents and responders.
The Fitchburg Fire Department worked with plumbers, MG&E, and the building staff and got the utilities turned back on.
No one was displaced.
